Mount Hope (32.8403° S 145.8767° E, elevation 223 m) is a settlement in western New South Wales, Australia. It is situated on the Kidman Way, 94 kilometres north of Hillston and 160 kilometres south of Cobar. A lot of the township was destroyed in a major bushfire in the 1950s. Travellers are warned that there is no fuel available in this village. It has its own crossover air strips still being used today. The only visible business open in the village is the Royal Hotel, commonly known as the "Mount Hope Pub".

 

First licensed in 1881, Mount Hope Pub offers travellers a refreshing break from driving along the newly created tourist route, the Kidman Way.

 

Situated between Cobar and Hillston in Outback NSW, this family run hotel has clean comfortable accommodation for up to 12 people, with all meals available.

 

Mount Hope is one of Australia's copper mining ghost towns, with a population of 11, the hotel being the main focal point for the town.
