Quirindi is a small town in New South Wales, Australia, in Liverpool Plains Shire. At the 2001 census, Quirindi had a population of 2,537. It is known as the Gateway to the North West - being the nearest link to Gunnedah to the west and Tamworth to the North. The local economy is based on agriculture.

A prominent landmark is the nearby Quipolly Dam. Constructed in 1933, the dam wall originally stood at 43 metres. Significant works were undertaken in 1965 to increase the capacity of the original specification by over 30%. Today the dam stands at an imposing 63 meters in height. It is primarily constructed of concrete and, at full capacity, is able to store just under 1 million megalitres of water. Quipolly Dam serves as the main water supply for the township of Quirindi and parts of the surrounding district. The 15 kilometre lake provides ample leisure and tourism benefits for the area.

The town is served by the daily Countrylink Xplorer service to and from Sydney and Armidale/Moree.

Quirindi is credited with being the home of polo in Australia, and it certainly bred one of our greatest polo players in Sinclair Hill - the man that Prince Charles long called on for advice on staying in the saddle.
