Soldiers Point is a suburb of the Port Stephens Shire in the Hunter Valley Region of New South Wales, Australia. It is located on the shores of Port Stephens. It is a popular location for fishing and boating.

Two and a half times the size of Sydney Harbour and bound by white-sand beaches, the aquamarine Port Stephens is a magnificent waterway stretching 24km inland from its volcanic headlands. Behind the beaches, a natural bushland fringe, a riot of colour in spring, completes this coastal Eden.

The port’s deep waters teem with fish and you can hop aboard a charter to try your luck with the off-shore big-game or watch whales and dolphin at play. There are pleasure cruises on the bay and into the adjoining Myall Lakes system.

The workers at the Botanic Gardens near here are dedicated to growing, conserving and promoting local plants, which are splendidly represented in the 360ha of the gardens. They’re open to visitors seven days a week and are definitely worth a visit between bouts of fishing and swimming.
