TooleybucPostcode: 2736 Tooleybuc is a town in the western Riverina district of New South Wales, Australia. The town is located on the Mallee Highway, 919 kilometres south west of the state capital, Sydney and 381 kilometres north west of Melbourne. Situated on the banks of the Murray River across from Piangil in the neighbouring state of Victoria, Tooleybuc has a population of 180. The town is the Wakool Shire Local government area.
Tooleybuc is home to a historic bridge over the Murray River. Constructed in 1907, the bridge is designed to rise to let paddle steamers through.
The town has a dual water supply and augmented sewerage system.
Tooleybuc is a popular holiday sport with recreational fishing and camping being a renowned past time. There is a public boat ramp located at the end of Lea Street to the Murray River.
Tooleybuc Sporting Club offers all the facilities you would expect from a NSW Club, including poker machines, bistro, with the added extra of a 9 hole golf course and putt putt golf. The Club also is home to some well attended bowling greens where competitions are regularly held.
Caravan Park and ample motel accommodation is available. There is a general store type shop that makes a great sandwich and a number of parks along the River in which to have a picnic lunch or just a rest stop.
A combined primary & high school is located in Lockharts Road.
