Yeronga

Postcode: 4104

Yeronga is a suburb of Brisbane, Australia located on the Brisbane River 7 km south of the Brisbane CBD. Yeronga is a residential suburb. There is a Yeronga train station on the line to Beenleigh. Yeronga is conveniently located nearby many educational institutions, located next to the Yeronga Institute of TAFE, and only a CityCat or ferry ride across the river to the University of Queensland at St Lucia. There is a quaint treatment plant near the riverside.

A few kilometres south of Brisbane’s CBD, Yeronga hugs the banks of the Long Pocket Reach of the Brisbane River. Parks play a predominant role in this community, notably Goodwin Park on the river side and Yeronga Park and Felbert Park, where the locals enthusiastically embrace AFL, soccer and cricket.

Set on 22ha, expansive Yeronga Park was recently landscaped and upgraded to highlight groves of trees and one of South Brisbane’s grandest war memorials. The park also includes a swimming pool, a bike track and a fun and fitness trail.

Of course, it’s only a short trip to Brisbane’s great South Bank complex and all the delights of the increasingly-interesting CBD.

Looking out over the river to the heart of the city, the South Bank precinct, which includes the land bought by the Queensland Government to stage the enormously successful World Expo 88, embraces the Queensland Library, Museum and Art Gallery, the Performing Arts Complex, the Maritime Museum, a river beach, rain-forested walkways, gardens and a restaurant mall.
