Exploring Australia, town by town

Australian Capital Territory

Welcome to the ACT

The Australian Capital Territory is Australia’s smallest state or territory in land mass, and second smallest in population. However it’s an important place, as it holds Australia’s capital city, Canberra.

The lands around the capital are great places to enjoy. From the heights of Mount Bimberi, towering at 1,912 metres ASL, down to the lows of the Murrumbidgee River, at 429 metres above sea level.
