Located in the Katherine area of Northern Territory, Numbulwar is in the Victoria Daly local government area, and within the electoral seat of Lingiari.
Numbulwar is a location in the Northern Territory. Numbulwar is a small, primarily Aboriginal, community On the Gulf of Carpentaria at the mouth of the Rose River. It was founded as an Anglican mission named the Rose River Mission. It was run as a mission until the 1970s when community control was taken over by the Numbulwar community council. The community consists of a store, a police station, a school, an engine repair shop, a small airport, and about 200 residents. Mission Aviation Fellowship has a base in Numbulwar which provides air services for the community. Numbulwar is home to about 1000 people.
