Bonogin Valley QLD

Bonogin Valley

Postcode: 4213

The picturesque Bonogin Valley is a residential suburb located between Austinville and Tallebudgera Valley on the Goldcoast, Queensland.

The origin of the name Bonogin is possibly connected to an Aboriginal word ‘Boonow’ meaning red blood wood. Originally farmland as early as the 1870’s, families moved to Bonogin to cut timber, operate dairies and grow bananas.

Bonogin all but disappeared after 1924, but a new wave of settlers in the 1980’s re-discovered the valley and subdivided the old farm lands into smaller acreage blocks.
