Forestdale QLD

Forestdale

Postcode: 4118

Forestdale, located in the Logan Shire District, is Brisbane’s “best kept secret” southside suburb with one acre plus allotments and a lovely diversification of styles of homes. It is close to the Brisbane CBD via freeway (31min/32.9km) but also within a reasonable drive via freeway to the Gold Coast (56min/70.2km).

Forestdale was originally called Browns Plains and in the early to mid eighties was developed by Peter Kurts developers into an area which would retain it’s rural feeling while having the benefits of living in the suburbs. Peter Kurts Developments who sub-divided Forestdale and the name was arrived at after an internal competition run among the staff. Many suggestions were made including Acacia Forest. But it was decided that as the area was a thick green leafy area and was a forest, something more appropriate would be needed. Forestdale was named for this reason.

There are plenty of parks for a Sunday BBQ, entertainment for young and old or simply relaxing and listening to the sound of different birds. There is also a great neighbourhood watch community, lots of social events, school & local buses operate regularly and Forestdale is situated only minutes from Browns Plains Grand Plaza and all amenities.
