Postcode: 4812

Hermit Park is a suburb and Residential enclave of Townsville, Queensland. It is a mixture of predominantly Residential premises, Commercial and light-Industrial businesses, as well as serving as a public services hub. Most of the public will be serviced by the Townsville Hospital in an Emergency, but the closest hospital is the Wesley Park Haven Hospital, a private hospital located in the suburb. Education wise, Hermit Park State School, and Saint Magaret Mary’s College (girls single gender Secondary school), are both located in the suburb.

Hermit Park is right in the middle of Townsville, Australia’s largest tropical city. Apart from its growing tourist industry, Townsville is the administrative, commercial and manufacturing capital of North Queensland, with a busy port and an international airport.

Traditional commerce is complemented by a large military presence, national rugby league and basketball franchises which have attracted large support bases and an aggressive tourism thrust all of which combines to produce a well-rounded, progressive city boasting a host of attractions and a range of quite exciting restaurants.

The Great Barrier Reef Wonderland marine centre , with its transparent tunnels, is a must-see, while visitors and locals alike head to the casino on Breakwater Marina, with its gaming rooms, nightlife, restaurants, bars and accommodation.

Just offshore is Magnetic Island, a favourite laid-back tourist destination, with regular fast-boat access. Townsville offers great game and sports fishing, boating and sailing, and easy access to the Palm Island group.
