Lake Weyba QLD

Lake Weyba

Postcode: 4567

Lake Weyba is located about 13km south of Noosa, on the western side of Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast Queensland. Lake Weyba National Park and Lake Weyba itself, which feeds into the estuary at Noosa Heads, hosts a number of comfortable eco loges and bed and breakfasts.

Lake Weyba is a shallow large lake bordered by a rich mix of coastal wallum heath and scrub that provides sanctuary for many native fauna and flora.

The name is considered to be derived from the aboriginal word for ‘stingray’ as Lake Weyba was home to a large number of stingrays before development prior 1990. It’s a good place to meander round peacefully on a canoe or a motorised boat and absorb the scenery.
