To the north, you’ll find the Marina Mirage hosts boutique shops, galleries and fine, waterfront restaurants and upmarket hotels and resorts.

Main Beach is a cosmopolitan area which is home to famous resort hotels like Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast, Palazzo Versace and Seaworld Nara Resort. There is a popular walking track beside the beach front which starts at Surfers Paradise and stretches north to Main Beach through the exclusive shopping precincts.

On your way you will pass Narrowneck where an artificial reef has been created to protect this beautiful expanse of sand from big surf conditions. Stop for refreshments at the historic Main Beach bathing pavilion or the Southport Surf Life Saving Club. The Federation Walk meanders along the well preserved coastline and magnificent beaches.

Just past Main Beach is the Southport Spit where you can head out along the sand-pumping jetty which stretches 500 metres out to sea. This area also features several dive sites. When on an early morning beach walk, you can frequently see divers heading to the wreck of the Scottish Princes.

The Marina is also a hive of activity for all boating, fishing and watersport. Kite Surfers, Jetskiers and kayakers frequent the area along with the opulent and upmarket vessels going on 5-star cruise.
