Narangba

Postcode: 4504

About 30km north of Brisbane, just off the Bruce Highway on the way to Caboolture, and about 8km west of Deception Bay, Narangba is close to two big lakes – Samsonvale and Kurwongba.

The Alma Park Zoo – one of the prettiest little zoos in Australia – is just a short drive away, too. At Deception Bay, a few minutes away by car, there are some lovely beaches, and great fishing in the estuary or out in the bay itself.

Moreton Island National Park is a few kilometres offshore and ferry services run from Scarborough at the southern end of the bay. Narangaba is just a few kilometres south of Caboolture, administrative centre of the shire of the same name. From Caboolture it is a short, 30-minute drive to the bridge connecting Bribie Island to the mainland. Bribie is separated from the mainland by one of the great aquatic playgrounds and fishing paradise of the Pumicestone Passage whose protected waters offer sanctuary to the protected dugong and many species of birds.

The Pumicestone National Park conserves the waterway and much of Bribie Island’s natural rainforest and scenic bushland.
