Salisbury

Postcode: 4107

Cheek by jowl with the vast and bushland-backed Nathan campus of Griffith University, Salisbury is a well-established suburb in Brisbane’s south.

The ANZ Stadium, home ground to National Rugby League’s Brisbane Broncos, and Toohey Forest Park at Nathan are within comfortable walking distance. The Forest Park is networked by walking tracks and trails that snake through the wildlife rich bush, but visitors are advised to join the Sunday morning guided walks organised by the local Protection Society.

The large Mt Gravatt shopping and commercial complex, Garden City, is a short bus ride away, and Brisbane’s major light aircraft terminal, Archerfield Aerodrome, lies to the immediate south. The South-east Freeway, the multi-laned arterial expressway linking Brisbane and the Gold Coast, bisects Mt Gravatt.

Suburbs such as Salisbury in Brisbane’s south, which are close to the CBD and close to public transport and other infrastructure, are ripe for an insurgence of residential property. As city prices rise, often relative to a suburb’s proximity to the CBD, it becomes uneconomical for many industrial and commercial outfits to locate in these prime real estate areas.

Salisbury has seen good growth in median house prices in recent years and due to its location near the City, and the opportunity its housing mix has presented to an ever-increasing section of the population who wish to renovate older style houses, it is expected that the price growth will continue more strongly in the future.
