Arthurs Lake

Located in the Central Highlands (Tas.) area of Tasmania, Arthurs Lake is in the West Coast local government area, and within the electoral seat of Lyons.

Arthurs Lake is a rural locality within Central Highlands in the Central region of Tasmania.

The area has a man-made reservoir in the middle of the town. The lake was created by the Hydro-Electric Commission of Tasmania in 1920, damming the Upper Lake River, Blue Lake and Sand Lake as well as the Morass Marsh to support the generation of hydroelectricity.

The lake has long been a popular angling location and has good facilities for boat launching and camping just east side of Great Lake.

Arthurs Lake is 127 kilometres from the capital city of Hobart and can be reached within one and a half hours of travel via the National Highway 1 and Highland Lakes Rd/A5

At the 2021 national census, the population of 7030 (Including Arthurs Lake) was 19720 people. Out of those, 9724 were male and 9996 were female.
