Baden

Located in the South East Coast area of Tasmania, Baden is in the Southern Midlands local government area, and within the electoral seat of Lyons.

Baden is a small rural locality within the Southern Midlands. The village was originally known as ‘Rumney’s Hut’ named after William Rumney, the first free settler in the area.

Baden is 73 kilometres from the capital city of Hobart and can be reached within one hour of travel via B31.

At the 2021 national census, the population of 7120 (Including Baden) was 1892 people. Out of those, 952 were male and 935 were female.
