Located in the North East area of Tasmania, Ben Lomond is in the Northern Midlands local government area, and within the electoral seat of Lyons.

Ben Lomond is a small rural locality within Northern Midlands located in the Central region of Tasmania.

The locality is known for Ben Lomond National Park, although you can enjoy visiting the park in any season, the winter is still one of the best times to maximise what the park can offer. Boasting one of the island’s two ski fields, people who love winter can enjoy different activities such as skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing.

After tiring activities, what a nice way to end the day by sipping a hot chocolate while admiring the ski village with an atmosphere of an authentic Tasmanian winter wonderland.

Ben Lomond is 218 kilometres from the capital city of Hobart and can be reached within three hours of travel via National Highway 1.

At the 2021 national census, the population of 7212 (Including Ben Lomond) was 1778 people. Out of those, 887 were male and 890 were female.
