Elizabeth Town is a town in Meander Valley, Tasmania.
A small community on the Bass Highway 10 Km north of Deloraine. A favourite resting place for travellers to the north west.
Mixed farming is carried out in the district.It is reported that the name ‘Elizabeth’ honoured Governor Macquarie’s wife, and that it had been planned to provide the name to what is now known as New Norfolk. However, for various reasons, this did not happen.
