Located in the West Coast area of Tasmania, Nook is in the West Coast local government area, and within the electoral seat of Lyons.

Nook is a small rural community within Kentish in the north-west and west region of Tasmania. The community is only a 30-min drive from Devonport.

The Town is known for the Morgan Skyline track hiking trails. Visitors have the option to choose from two trails, The Morgan Skyline Highlite Route and Morgan Road to Jarmans Road via Morgan Skyline route.

The Morgan Skyline Highlite Route is generally considered a moderately challenging route. This 3.2 km looped route begins and ends from near the end of Morgan Road. Enjoy walking along the ridge with beautiful views of the surrounding farmland. The route takes an average of 1 hour to complete.

If you want more challenge, take the Morgan Road to Jarmans Road via the Morgan Skyline. Explore this 11.6-km out-and-back trail which is considered by many as a challenging route. This route takes an average of 4 h 30 min to complete.

Both trails are popular for hiking, running, and walking.

Nook is 251 kilometres from the capital city of Hobart and can be reached within three and a half hours of travel time via Highland Lakes Rd/A5.

At the 2021 national census, the population of 7306 (Including Nook) was 4276 people. Out of those, 2200 were male and 2072 were female.
