North Motton

Located in the Devonport area of Tasmania, North Motton is in the Waratah/Wynyard local government area, and within the electoral seat of Braddon.

North Motton is a village and dairy farming district on Preston Road. It is a small town in the Central Coast, in the North-West of Tasmania.

The famous tourist attraction in the area is the Dial Range. The range consists of multiple peaks; one of the prominent ones is Mount Gnomon; it provides the northern section of the range with a unique profile. Explore the rugged charm of the landscape with various geological formations that can be found in the area. Don’t forget to see the tunnels that are a result of the prospecting and mining attempts in the area in the late 19th to early 20th century.

North Motton is 281 kilometres from the capital city of Hobart and can be reached within three and a half hours of travel time via Highland Lakes Rd/A5 and National Highway 1.
