Strathgordon

Postcode: 7139

Strathgordon is the most south westerly road connected locality in the South west of Tasmania, Australia.

It is remote by Tasmanian standards, with only one winding road leading back 160 km to New Norfolk, near Hobart.

The town was created due to the damming of Lake Pedder and Lake Gordon. It was the ‘company’ town for the hydro-electric projects of Hydro Tasmania.

Its location makes it a popular tourist destination, especially for visitors wishing to visit the Southwest National Park.
