Cardross

Postcode: 3496

Cardross is a small town near Mildura, in north western Victoria, Australia. Established as a farming community in the mid 1920’s, Cardross was named after a village with the same name in Scotland. The Cardross Post Office was officially opened in June 1925.

Sadly, Cardross is well known as the site of a well known road fatality in February 2006, in which 11 teenagers were hit by an out of control car while walking on the roadside. Six of those teenagers were killed.

The tragedy caused a mixture of shock grief and anger in the local community.
