Moliagul is a small township in Victoria, Australia, 202 kilometres north west of Melbourne, (60 kilometres west of Bendigo) notable for the discovery of the worlds largest gold nugget, the Welcome Stranger in 1869.

The area is a historical gold mining town and is now mostly deserted.

In 1855, it is estimated there were 16,000 people living in Moliagul during the peak of the Victorian gold rush period. Reverend John Flynn, founder of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, was born in Moliagul in 1880.
