Stanhope is a small town in North-Central Victoria Stanhope is approximately 30 KM’s from Shepparton in Regional Victoria. It lies approximately 195 KM’s north of the state capital Melbourne and 392KM’s South East of Canberra the capital city of Australia.

Like many towns in this area of Victoria it relies heavily on its fruit production, food processing and farming and a large food processing plant lies in the centre of the town.

Like much of Victoria Netball and AFL are extremely popular and Stanhope hosts a footy team which is part of the Kyabram and District Football league.

Services in the town include a general convenience store, a wine bar, a pub and tennis courts .

Local landmarks include Lake Cooper and Loch Garry and other towns nearby include Girgarre East and Tatura and Echuca.

At Stanhope, huge stainless steel storage tanks associated with the Bonlac milk products company tower beside the Midland Highway and contented cows can be seen in adjacent paddocks, providing a clear insight into what constitutes the area’s bread and butter, so to speak.
